How OpusClip got its users
Creators showing the time saved on their own production, plus a watermark on free clips.
Read from signals. Consistent with what is publicly observable, but nobody confirmed it. Check before you quote it.
You could start this on Monday. No budget, no audience, no permission needed.
- Social proof you could never manufacture yourself
- A creative library for paid advertising
- A product you can demonstrate on screen
- A sourcing and contracting process
- Budget, or a product desirable enough to get it free
Creators and UGC in 2026
The most effective channel in consumer mobile today, and the most saturated at the top end.
Everything on this channel →The play
5 steps, in the order they ran them.
- 1
Pin the one shot a creator can film. OpusClip's is a screen record: drop a video, pick a genre, type a prompt, hit "Get clips in 1 click" (opus.pro/clipanything), and out comes a grid of vertical clips sorted by Virality Score, 0 to 99, each with Hook, Flow, Value and Trend feedback (help.opus.pro virality-score article). Long thing in, ranked short things out, one screen. Film your own version silent, in one take. If you cannot, no creator will.
done whenTry to record your own demo in one unbroken take. If it needs a cut, a login screen, or a wait longer than a Short, the format is not ready to hand to anyone else.
- 2
Brand the output, not the app. Free Plan and Free Trial clips carry an OpusClip logo watermark that only comes off on upgrade (help.opus.pro watermark article), and the opus.pro homepage offers a free-forever tier with 60 minutes of processing refreshed monthly, so plenty of watermarked clips get posted. Copy the rule: free tier generous enough to use in public, mark only what gets published, never private or internal exports.
done whenAsk whether your product's output ever lands on a public feed. If it stays in dashboards or internal docs, a watermark buys you nothing and you need a different surface.
- 3
Recruit from your own watermark trail before pitching strangers. Search TikTok and YouTube for your product name and for the watermark itself; whoever is already posting your output has the footage and the habit. DM them a custom link. opus.pro/affiliate says it welcomes every creator to apply, which is the same logic run inbound: no follower floor, no vetting call, no exclusivity. The tutorial they were already making just gets a link under it.
done whenCount how many people outside your team posted your product's output publicly this month. Under five, fix the free tier and the demo before building any affiliate program.
- 4
Pay a recurring cut, not a flat fee. opus.pro/affiliate lists 25% recurring commission through the first year of each new subscriber referred, paid monthly by PayPal once the balance clears $20, tracked in Rewardful. The same page bans the affiliate link in any paid media, search ads or Facebook ads included. Copy both: recurring keeps paying the creator whose tutorial still ranks a year on, and the ad ban stops affiliates bidding against you on your own name.
done whenCheck your margin against paying out a quarter of the subscription for a full year. If it only survives on annual plans, write that into the terms before you sign anyone up.
- 5
Ship a resource page instead of a brief. affiliateresources.opus.pro hands affiliates four things: a Media Kit with brand assets plus talking points tied to upcoming feature launches, a form to request a custom affiliate link, a partner badge for their link visitors, and the Rewardful dashboard. The talking points are the engine, because each new feature is a fresh reason for the same creator to film again. One page, updated every launch.
done whenLook at your last three shipped features. If none came with a short talking-point sheet a creator could film from, you have nothing for them to post between launches.
