Before and after images that share themselves, launched to an audience that was already watching every ship.

Confirmed. The team said it publicly, or the signals leave no room for doubt.

Can you run this?

Founder-led in 2026

Works extremely well, but it is an asset you build before the product, not during.

The play

5 steps, in the order they ran them.

  1. 1

Before Interior AI, Levels shipped This House Does Not Exist: a free, no-signup page generating fake modern homes with AI names, descriptions, upvotes, a top-ranked page and social share cards, built in the visual language of ArchDaily. ArchDaily covered it within a day. He then pointed the same Stable Diffusion img2img trick at photos of real rooms. Ship the free toy first, aimed at one publication's house style, and keep the tech for the paid version.

done whenName the one publication your buyers already read, then describe the free generator that would make its editors cover it in a day. If you cannot name the publication, you do not have a niche yet.

  2. 2

Honest part: the launch rode an X account already carrying Nomad List and Remote OK, plus a habit of posting revenue in public. Levels credited the viral spike to someone else's tweet, not his own. With no audience, copy the mechanic: hand free accounts to 20 to 30 people who already post room before and afters, and post your numbers where the number is the ticket in, not the follower count. His build log is public at wip.co/projects/interiorai. Show HN and r/SideProject work the same way.

done whenList by name the people in your niche who post before and after images every week. If you cannot reach 20, the founder-led route is closed for you and paid or search comes first.

  3. 3

The homepage H1 is "Fire your interior designer", aimed straight at the profession the tool replaces. Business of Home, the trade paper for interior designers, then had three working designers test it and write up what broke. Levels reposted the feature. Write the headline that names the incumbent you displace, then email the trade publication offering their readers a hands-on test. The disagreement is the story, not the launch.

done whenName the trade publication your buyers read at work, and the exact job title your product makes redundant. If your headline offends nobody, no editor has a reason to run it.

  4. 4

Interior AI stopped being a room toy and became virtual staging for real estate agents: a separate mode that keeps the walls and swaps only furniture, plus landing copy giving the agent's math, staged homes selling 87% faster and 15% higher, about $70,000 more per home and $3,500 to the agent. That turns a fun render into a line item. Find the professional who resells your output, build the mode their workflow needs, and put their earnings on the page.

done whenWrite one sentence in which your user earns or saves money from a single output of your product, with the number filled in. If the number is blank, you are still selling a toy.

  5. 5

Every render lands on its own public page under interiorai.com/interior-designs/, slugged by style and room type, tagged, browsable with no signup, and published CC BY 4.0 with attribution to Interior AI. The homepage runs a before and after slider and reuses the press and customer logos it earned. The output is a URL, not a download, so each shared image carries a credit link back. Build that page before your first user.

done whenTry sending one output of your product to a friend as a link. If it needs a login, a screenshot or a file attachment, you have no channel and every share dies with the sender.
