Programmatic SEO in 2026

Still alive, but the bar has moved. Thin pages get deindexed, so you need real data on every single page.

The play

5 steps, in the order they ran them.

  1. 1

The unit is one AI tool. Toolify's homepage counter reads 30237 AIs and 459 categories right now, and every category is a leaf: /category/ai-paraphraser, /category/ai-love-letter-generator, /category/ai-fanfic-generator. Not a bucket called Writing. Build your list the same way, one row per product and one row per narrow use case. Split your obvious top category into forty things people actually type. The narrow slug is the page that ranks.

done whenRead your own category slugs out loud. If they sound like a search someone types, keep going. If they sound like magazine sections (Writing, Productivity, Business), you have too few pages and none of them are specific enough to rank.

  2. 2

Ship the category template first: /category/<slug>. H1 reads Best 362 AI Paraphraser Tools in 2026, the meta description lists the first five tool names, then twenty tool blocks, then fixed H2s pulled from the database: What is AI Paraphraser, Core Features, Who is suitable to use it, How does it work, Advantages, FAQ with five questions, More Categories with ten sibling links. One skeleton, 459 pages. The count and the year in the H1 update themselves.

done whenStrip the entity list off your emptiest category page. If what remains is just a title, the template is unfinished: the definition, the FAQ and the sibling links have to make the page stand on its own.

  3. 3

The second template is /tool/languagetool: Introduction line, Added on date, Monthly Visitors, pricing tag, category tags, then What is X, How to use X, X's Core Features, X's Use Cases, FAQ from X, X Login, X Pricing, Alternative of X. Founders fill that body themselves through toolify.ai/submit, which today lists at $99 and offers a choice between Generated by Toolify and Do it myself. You supply the slots, not the sentences.

done whenAt entry fifty, are you still writing the body copy yourself? If yes, your submission form is not asking for enough fields, and the list will stop growing the week you get bored.

  4. 4

Make the form worth filling. toolify.ai/submit sells the vendor's outcome, not yours: no less than 6 quality dofollow links, listed within 48 hours with no queue, a border highlight in the list, and a Toolify AI Launch embed badge to paste on their own site. Every tool page also carries Update this tool and Advertise this tool buttons. That is what keeps 30237 rows current without you touching the copy.

done whenSay out loud what a founder gets in the 48 hours after submitting. If the only answer is a listing, nobody fills your form and nobody ever comes back to update their entry.

  5. 5

Store more per tool than name and blurb, because spare fields become free page types. /Best-AI-Tools-revenue ranks tools by the payment platform detected on their site (Stripe, Paddle, Paypal) next to monthly visits, and its siblings are Top AI by Monthly, by Categories, by Regions, by Source. Same rows, five more index pages. Then the language prefixes in toolify.ai/robots.txt (/fr/, /ja/, /es/, /de/, /ko/) multiply the whole tree.

done whenCount the fields in your schema that no page currently uses. Each unused field is an index page you have not shipped yet.
