The best channel when it exists. But it is decided in product design, not in marketing.

The play

5 steps, in the order they ran them.

  1. 1

Tella's pricing table puts "Remove Tella branding" and "Add a custom domain" on Premium only. So every free user's video sits on a tella.tv/video/{id}/view page wearing Tella's mark, watched by people who never signed up. Treat that page as the storefront, not a preview. Pick the single artifact your free tier hands to a non-user, and spend your design time there before you touch your homepage.

done whenOpen your own free-tier output as a logged-out stranger. Can they tell which tool made it, and is there one obvious way to get their own? If either answer only appears on a paid plan, you have it backwards.

  2. 2

The look is the only thing that survives export. A downloaded MP4 posted to X or YouTube carries no link and no badge, so Tella loads the frame itself: wallpapers, auto zoom presets (subtle or intense), the Perspective layout that "adds a subtle 3D tilt to your camera and screen", side-by-side 50/50. Ship one signature treatment that is on by default. If users must switch it on, your exports leave home anonymous.

done whenPut your product's output next to a competitor's with all names cropped out. If a stranger cannot pick yours, nothing you export will ever prompt the "what did you make that with" question.

  3. 3

Close the loop inside the player. Tella's Share > Embed panel toggles a "Record your own" button and a "Watch on Tella" link, stored as URL params (b=0, wt=0) on tella.tv/video/{id}/embed. It is oEmbed compatible, so a bare link pasted into Notion, WordPress or Medium renders the player. Build both: a one-line paste that works anywhere, and one "make your own" control living inside the thing being watched.

done whenPaste your share URL raw into Notion and into a WordPress post. If it renders as a player rather than blue text, your artifact travels on its own. If not, oEmbed is a weekend of work with a permanent payoff.

  4. 4

Make the hosted page win on the maker's terms, so they keep sending viewers to a page you brand. Tella lets you "Add up to two CTA buttons on your video pages", plus chapters, password protection, viewer downloads and GIF thumbnails, and argues its player will not send viewers off to recommended videos the way YouTube does. Give free users a reason to link your page instead of uploading the file elsewhere.

done whenAsk why a user would host with you instead of YouTube, Dropbox or a bare file link. If your only answer is convenience, they will move the file the moment it matters, and your artifact stops circulating.

  5. 5

Farm where the artifact already lands. Tella runs /best-product-videos on a stated rule: "Every year, for a bit of fun, the Tella team watches all the launch videos posted on Product Hunt. Then we pick our faves." Its /examples library adds "if you record a sweet-looking video and share it with us, it might end up here." Build the gallery of your users' work, make inclusion the prize, and say where you go looking.

done whenDo you have one page where a user's work is shown with their name on it, plus a stated rule for getting in? If not, your best users have no reason to tell you they exist.
